SIIS Hosts the Seminar on “Evolution and Impact of China-US Economic and Trade Relations”

On November 3, 2022, the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies hosted the Seminar on “Evolution and Impact of China-US Economic and Trade Relations”. Mr. Craig Allen, President of US-China Business Council and Ambassador Sha Hailin, President of Shanghai Public Relations Association delivered keynote speeches. The seminar was moderated by Professor Yan Anlin, Vice President of SIIS. Professor Yang Jiemian, Chairman of SIIS’s Academic Advisory Council delivered a welcome speech.

Mr. Gu Chunting, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Professor Yu Nanping, professor of East China Normal University and leader of the decision-making and advisory research base of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government/Yu Nanping Studio, Mr. Kyle Redinger, Chairman of INVISTA (China) Investment Co., Ltd and Vice President of INVISTA Nylon Intermediates, Asia Pacific and Dr. Ye Yu, Deputy Director of the Institute for World Economy Studies at SIIS made presentations at the seminar. Participants had an in-depth discussion on world economy, China-US Economic and Trade Relations, US multinational companies’ global strategic planning and how US and Chinese governments secure resilience and stability of global supply chain. Experts from SIIS’s Institute for World Economy Studies and Center for American Studies joined the discussion. In the wrap-up session, Professor Yang Jiemian gave a remarkable summary of this seminar.
